Roosevelt had overlooked the Manhattan project, which was the atomic bomb project. In 1935, he signed the neutrality act which stated that America did not have any plans on fighting in this war. He also set up an trade embargo with the Japanese which had deprived them of their oil. He also lead America through the Great Depression and served America for all but four months of WW2. While under Roosevelt's watch, the nation rebounded from one of the most devastating attacks in American history, Pearl Harbor, and nearly achieved victory in both Europe and the Pacific by the time of Roosevelt's unfortunate passing. His successor was by his vice president, Harry S. Truman. Roosevelt's passing unfortunately cam on April 12th, 1945.
